Two Meditations I Love
Loving-kindness and visualization meditations are the two that have benefited me the most. Loving-kindness has helped me become a better person and treat people better. I have learned to replace negative thoughts with positive ones and that reflects my attitude towards people. I never realized how my thoughts of others effected my life. Knowing how to stay positive and send out good vibes really does make life easier. Everyone around me seems to be effected by my positive actions. The visualization exercise is my favorite. I have actually used this for a very long time. When I meditate, I like to have a visual in my head on what I need my meditation to help with. To me, seeing is believing, and to be able to see my inner self, lets me know that my goal of optimal well being is possible. I plan to use these meditations for a life time because the benefits are amazing.

Adrian,
ReplyDeleteI have received the most benefit from those two exercises also! It is amazing how Loving-kindness spreads out and touches those around you. It is true that like attracts like in situations such as this. Positive thoughts and actions are also contagious because many times others subconsciously learn from your example.
Visualization is also excellent for me but in a different way. I practice visualization for all the aspects it is beneficial for. It wasn't until this class that I actually learned about merging the three areas into one in order to reap the most benefits though.
Good luck to you!
Hello Adrian,
ReplyDeleteI actually chose the same two examples because they both greatly benefited me as well. I wish there was an audio for Loving-Kindness so that I can still take my mind where it went in the exercise but with my eyes closed. It may sound silly, but for me to truly relax and mentally meditate, my eyes must be closed so that I can block everything else out. Visualization is amazing because we can see so much more to life. Our mind can take us anywhere in the world (or out of this world) so that we can find that perfect place of serenity. I really enjoyed reading your post!
